Faith Formation Leader Opportunity
We are looking to hire a full-time Faith Formation leader. We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Lay Ecclesial Minister ready to embrace the opportunity to help revitalize our community, invest in relationships with our parishioners, and implement a vision promoting growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for reaching children, teens, and adults with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the truth of the Catholic Church.
The exact responsibilities may be negotiable, as we are in the process crafting a vision for the future. We invite our new team member to be a part of planning and creating that future.
Responsibilities may include:
Coordinating Faith Formation for children in Grades Kindergarten through 6 or 8, likely on Sundays and a weekday.
Coordinating Sacramental Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
Coordinating our Family Masses (currently once per month)
Coordinating various annual events, such as the Christmas Pageant and Vacation Bible School
Training and overseeing volunteer Faith Formation Ministers
Family Ministry, including creating a ministry for families with young children
Coordinating and Implementing a Children’s Liturgy of the Word at some Masses
Creating and implementing an annual workshop/retreat experience for each children’s grade
Post-Confirmation Youth Group
Assisting with Communication efforts of our collaborative, including website, flocknote, and possibly social media
Middle school youth group
Leading Peer Ministry
Confirmation Preparation
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
Volunteer Coordination
Faith Formation Registration management
Technology support
Liturgical support
The Concord-Carlisle Catholic Collaborative, made up of Holy Family Parish at St. Bernard Church in Concord, MA, and St. Irene Parish in Carlisle, MA, is in the West Region of the Archdiocese of Boston. Staff members will enjoy the support of the Pastor and staff, as well as a motivated team of youth and adults who are invested in our community. This position reports directly to the Pastor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to support the mission and vision of the Roman Catholic Church and a Catholic in good standing, practicing and faithful to the Sacraments.
Preference may be given to candidates with at least 1-3 years’ experience leading a parish faith formation program that includes directing children and faith formation leaders, though we are open to mentoring someone new in this field.
Bachelor’s degree preferred (but not required), advanced degrees beneficial.
Complete and maintain Archdiocesan Safe Environment Training as required by the Archdiocese, and pass a CORI check.
Experience handling confidential, sensitive, timely and critical matters using good judgment, tact, respect, and discretion required.
Participate in staff activities, meetings, days of prayer and staff development.
Knowledge of technology and good communication skills is essential.
Ability and willingness to work weekends and evenings as needed.
