Deacon Chuck Clough was ordained a deacon in 1986. Upon ordination, he first served in prison ministry but early on was assigned to parish ministry at his home parish, the former Our Lady Help of Christians in West Concord. He was active in youth ministry at the parish level and for several years as part of a team that directed retreats for college students and young adults in the Archdiocese of Boston. In 1994 Fr. Austin Fleming became pastor of Our Lady's and they have worked together ever since.
A deacons' role is simply to serve the parish, the People of God, and that has been an important part of who he is. He finds it a special honor to preside at important family celebrations, such as baptisms and marriages, but it is just as important to him to be a simple friend to all of you.
He has lived in Concord for going on 50 years with his wife Gloria. His four children and 16 grandchildren live in the area so the family is large enough to fill a church when necessary. For his day job, he manages a small financial firm in Boston.
