Very Reverend David O’Leary, VF, S.T.L., D. Phil is a priest and professor, member of the Ordination Class of 1985 for the Archdiocese of Boston. He is coming from Good Shepherd Parish in Wayland where he has been the Pastor for the last eight years. He served as THE University Chaplain and Senior Lecturer in Religions, International Relations and Medical Ethics at Tufts University for 15 years and served as the Chair and member of the Human Subjects Research Committee and Ethics Committee for the Boston, Medford and Grafton Campuses of Tufts University. During the years of service at Tufts University, Fr. O’Leary was Administrator for many parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston. He was an Assistant Professor of Moral Theology and Catholic Social Teaching at Saint Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore Maryland for four years. Born and raised in Lynn, Massachusetts, the only child of Edward and Kathryn O’Leary, who both died in 2013 after 58 years of married life together. Reverend O’Leary graduated from Saint Pius V Grammar School, Lynn English Public High School, Saint John Seminary College, Boston College Institute for Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry, St. John Seminary School of Theology, Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Pontifical North American College Institute for Continuing Theological Education, the Vatican and the University of Oxford, Christ Church, United Kingdom. He served for many years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, earning many awards and citations, ending his career as a Lt. Colonel. Reverend O’Leary has published books and articles on theology, spirituality, medical ethics, economic justice and is trying to finish a book on contemporary issues in Catholicism. He has received the Papal honor of being Knighted as a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and being made a titular Canon of the Holy Sepulchre. Recently appointed by Cardinal O'Malley to be the Vicar Forane for the area priests of the West Region. Fr. Dave O'Leary's CV
