Can you pray for a child? "The Lord hears the prayer of His saints” (Prov. 15:29).
ASpiritual Godparentoffers one of the greatest gifts we can give a young person:faithful prayer. Through this ministry, we remind our children that they are never alone—and that the sacraments are celebrated and supported by the entire Church community.
What does a Spiritual Godparent do?
The role is simple, meaningful, and deeply powerful:pray.
You will be assigned the name ofone or two students
We ask that you remember themby name in your daily prayer
There areno meetings, no preparation, and no extra commitments
Just prayer—steadfast, intentional, and rooted in love.
Why your prayer matters
This year, our parish is blessed with:
37 students in 2nd and 3rd gradepreparing to experience God’s mercy inReconciliationand to receiveHoly Communionfor the first time
41 studentspreparing to receive thegifts of the Holy Spiritin the Sacrament ofConfirmation
These children and teens are walking important and sometimes challenging faith journeys. Your prayers can strengthen, encourage, and quietly guide them as they grow closer to Christ.
During the Confirmation retreat, wemayinvite you to send a short note of encouragement—but prayer remains the heart of this ministry.
